web design Proposal for alexandra bagley

Proposal

We take what you’ve already built and simplify into something clean and easy to navigate, while keeping the playfulness and heart that makes you the artist you are.

Map:

  1. A home page with a simple About statement leading you to Painting or Photography

  2. A Painting landing page with your artist statement, a sample of your work, upcoming events, etc, with a link to purchase prints and a contact form to book you for a show or purchase originals and/or commissions.

  3. A Photography landing page with your process, work samples, an About paragraph, a link to purchase prints, and a contact form or booking link to book a call with you.

Thoughts:

I don’t think you need a separate Contact page - we can link your email in the footer for extra contact opportunities.

Directing visitors to an external print shop (rather than an internal Squarespace shop) will alleviate packaging/proofing work and build in passive income. If they DO have an interest in purchasing an original canvas from you, we can build that into the contact form on the painting page.

copywriting:

Copywriting is our scaffold - the verbal story your clients engage with as they move down the page. A loose idea of the copy we’ll need for your new site:

  • Painting: an artist statement (what your art is about, your materials, who your paintings resonate with, etc), 4-6 sentences.

  • Painting: artist bio (who you are as an artist, why you paint, what painting means to you, etc), 4-6 sentences.

  • Photography: speaking to your clients about their session (why documentary family photography solves their pain points and helps them achieve their desires), 5-10 sentences.

  • Photography: artist bio (who you are as a family person and a photographer, gaining their trust), 4-6 sentences.

Plus a few miscellaneous headers and buttons, etc, that I can handle once I see your copy and get a feel for your voice.

IMPORTANT: We can talk through brand soul together on the kick-off call, and then copy would need to be submitted before we started design. If you get stuck or too busy, I can take copywriting off your plate! I’ve added that down below.

Some very, very loose inspiration/visual direction:

Very simple landing page with clean navigation and COLOR! I’d like to keep your Prussian blue and Chartreuse if you still love it.

I don’t think the illustrations are quite your vibe, but the overall feeling and clarity of this page is what I’m drawn to for your design.

Again, very clean and simple with colors.

LOVE the logo with the two pages balancing it in the navigation! That’s all we need!

my Process + offerings

Custom Project Portal

I use an incredible software called Milanote to host our project as we work on it. You’ll find a custom portal with our scope and deliverables, project schedule, and links to your contract, payment information, and delivery materials.

three Week Turnaround

We dive deeply and surface quickly. These projects are designed to be intensive to reduce back-and-forth and get you your deliverables sooner!

I added a week to give you time to write your own copy after our kick-off call.

Revisions

Two rounds of revisions are complimentary in your package. You may either comment your revisions in the Milanote, submit them as an email or Google Doc, or record a video walkthrough.

You can have up to two additional rounds of revisions at $125/hour. More than two additional rounds or revisions that drastically alter the design will count as a change of scope and require a new or additional project fee.

Project + Production Schedule

Schedule is subject to change depending on number of revisions and response time.

This is just my standard structure - I know you have a lot on your plate and we by no means need to go at this pace if it adds stress!
